i had to interview un nativohablante de español para mi clase y yo encontré a Luis in convo exchange (my summer fling) and we had a lit discussion about honor but then we just started talking in spanglish and this convo was almost 2 hours long and full of awesomeness. thank you dude for being open to talk to a confused weirdo like me. much appreciated.
we talked about faith and how it doesn't really matter what we believe in, we just have to be good people. he was pretty good with english (like wayyyy better than my spanish) there was a few words he didn;t know but he did know masochist so i was pretty impressed. we also talked about how fear and punishment shouldn;t motivate our faith. we talked about pain and how there's good and bad pain and we have to learn how to draw the boundaries between them. also how awesome sports are, having a good run can totally fix your whole day. but when you're doing something physical that's when you can gage how you are mentally, emotionally, and physically. we talked about how only 2-3 out of 10 people are actually anywhere for the right reason, so we need to live by vocation. also that integrity is universally important because we all know good and bad; we don't need complex books for that
also some life tips from my PH class earlier this week
Get people to like you
Get to know your professors
Participate in class more
Stay engaged in class
Look up more
Show up on time and don’t leave early
Don’t act like anything is beneath you
Treat people well
Don’t make excuses, make commitments
Take initiative
DO the stuff that you would rearrange your schedule for
I actually love learning so much.
