If nyc was a beach town

Malta is beautiful, even though I've been waiting for my bus for half an hour it's still beautiful. Here the buses don't stop unless someone has to get off or you flag them down. Other than that, I'd say they are reliable and they go everywhere. No matter where you are on the island, it's only a short bus ride from beach day in the Mediterranean Sea. A beach town w cheap living and great public transit is pretty hard to beat.
Haha I space a lot when I'm riding transit and I have to remind myself to look at the map so I don't miss my stop again. The screen that says which stop is next, is usually a stop off so I don't know what I'd do without Google Maps. The busses are usually off schedules and if you don't flag them down they don't stop, which is problematic for tourists who don't know that.
After falling asleep on a crammed bus, I made it to Golden Bay. Even though Malta is an island, beaches are small and very crowded. I found a nice spot in the sand to stick my umbrella and after eating my Lidl lunch of spring mix salad, rice crackers, and plums I went to swim. I think the biggest lessons I've learned from solo travel are about trust and confidence. I think I trust myself and strangers a lot more than I say I do. Along with that I've always thought I was one to never care what people think, and that has been put to the test so many times as I adventure on my own. It's really a boost in confidence when I actually do this stuff. Never in a million years did I think my 19 year old self would float in the Mediterranean Sea.
As I dried off on my beach towel, i studied from the Spanish dictionary. Then I headed to the beach at Paceville, but it was smaller and even more crowded. I noticed something odd. Boats were all kept in the bays but there aren't any docks. So I wonder how people get to their boats? Swim? I guess the sea is warm enough.
I headed back home after that and went out for a traditional Maltese dinner after my shower. Down the street, there's a place called Pulcinella and I had their fish special, a favorite of the Maltese during the summer, called Lampuki. It's this white fish that is said to be like Mahi Mahi. It was great but it still freaked me out to see the whole body including the head and the tail. I quietly apologized to the fish because I said I wouldn't eat anything if I could see its face.
After dinner, it was a quiet and sticky night in Malta as I did my laundry.
